Jolly pleased to be exhibiting in this unusual exhibition opening this week with a fabulous diversity of works at the prestigious neo:gallery 27 in Bolton. My new work for the exhibition is entitled Emplacement and reflects on encounters with the interior space of the allotment interpreted through photography and printmaking. So pleased to have been selected to exhibit in Spectrum 2016 with a piece from my new series of site responsive work from my recent visit to Germany that I will be developing over the coming months, very excited by the prospect.
The Preview is on Friday 1 July 6-9pm and the exhibition continues on Saturdays 11-5pm until 13 August 2016. What an amazing experience it's been to participate in this exhibition which we curated in our twinned town of Paderborn in Germany. See more here.
Participating artists were: Liam Ainscough, Donna Dowd, Sally Hayes, Thaleia Kavvada, Steph Shipley, Andy Smith, Alison Timmins and Ged Young. As part of the town-twinning celebration between Bolton and Paderborn in Germany, a group of Fine Artists from the University of Bolton were recently selected to display their artwork at the prestigious Castle Park Forum of Young Art Space on the outskirts of the city, and have just returned from opening their first international exhibition, The Best of Bolton Fine Art. The invitation came from the Director of Culture at Paderborn Council, Christoph Gockel-Böhner in conjunction with Alan Buckingham, the BA and MA Programme Leader for Fine Art at the School of the Arts at the University of Bolton. Christoph visited Bolton earlier this year to meet the alumni artists in their studios at neo: artists at the heart of Bolton’s thriving fine art community. Here is a gallery of photographs: A deftly curated exhibition at the Greater Manchester Chamber of Commerce gallery on Deansgate in Manchester. Many congratulations to all the artists, thanks to International 3 the selectors and curating team and all at the Chamber for organising such an excellent Preview. So pleased to be part of this - the exhibition continues until Friday 1st July 2016.
